Every CritteracyCritter (character) is a real animal whose species is vulnerable, threatened, or endangered. This choice is intentional: children form deeper emotional connections when stories reflect the real world, and these animals’ struggles mirror the courage, resilience, and curiosity young readers bring to learning. By pairing authentic phonics instruction with creatures who need care and attention, CritteracyLearning nurtures both literacy and empathy — helping children fall in love with reading and the living planet they share.

What Makes CritteracyLearning Different?

CRITTERACYLEARNING: BUILT ON TRUE PHONEMES AND REAL SPELLING PATTERNS

CRITTERACYLEARNING is the first early‑literacy system to combine

accurate phonology, orthographic clarity, and story‑based emotional learning

across all English sounds and spellings.

Most phonics materials unintentionally distort consonant sounds

by adding a schwa vowel (“buh,” “duh,” “fuh”),

or they oversimplify vowel patterns, digraphs, and spelling variations.

CRITTERACYLEARNING corrects these issues by teaching the true phonemes

and the real spelling patterns—from short vowels to consonants

to vowel teams like au, aw, ai, igh, oo, oi, ear, and more—

through character‑driven narrative, multisensory cues,

and ecologically grounded metaphors.

CRITTERACYLEARNING gives parents, teachers, and speech‑language pathologists

a cohesive, scalable literacy library that is both joyful and scientifically accurate.
